I shot a GREAT Engagement Shoot this past weekend. I got to use my new Canon 5D camera for an actual shoot, I already love it so much. Also had some time to play with some new lenses - like the canon 85mm 1.8! Love it. We shot these at the Austin College Campus in Sherman, Texas.  They had some awesome backgrounds to work with, and the lighting and weather worked well for us. Tanda and Matt were so easy to work with, I didn’t have to really try.  Look forward to doing their wedding later this year! On to the pics!

Took a break from editing photos from a wedding I did this past weekend, and did a photo shoot with this awesome couple. They were so easy to work with, we got so many great photos for only shooting for an hour! Enjoy! <3 jon cooper

Awesome Orchid

So I got this sweet orchid for my girlfriend for Valentines Day, and decided to take some artsy photos of it. I just love the cool abstract art that can be made with just flowers, plus it’s good to get practice on detail shots for weddings! The cat is bonus! Enjoy!

I took the pleasure of photographing a small personal wedding Yesterday! I was contacted last minute (day before) for this wedding, but I prevailed! Take a look at the photos from this wonderful couple, They did such a great job, especially for only having ~2 hours to shoot everything (aside from being absolutely FREEZING outside).

This was photographed at the awesome Alexander Bed and Breakfast in Lake Kiowa-Gainesville, Texas. Be sure to check that place out if you’re ever wanting to stay in the area, or have a cherished event such as a Wedding to share!

Shot this awesome couple and their cute dogs the other day. Photography is easy when you have a great looking couple.

I shot photos for this wonderful couple over the weekend. They liked the way my last Engagement Shoot photos came out, so we used the same location for theirs! It really is a cool little place in Farmer’s Branch to get photos done. Yes some of these look similar to my last ones, but that’s a good thing! I wish Kirstie and Vern best wishes for their marriage. I will also be shooting their wedding on November 17th, so be on the watch for those! Click on the link below to see all of the photos!

Went to the local Greek Festival yesterday, it was rather small but with good food. I always try to take my camera with me everywhere just to build inspiration for improvement. I went with my good friend Jerry, and my brother. It wasn’t that exciting of an event, but I took some interesting photos anyways. order.

For those of you curious to what my Engagement Photo Magazine is included with my packages, here is a sample I created for the lovely Ashley and Dustyn for their engagement pictures.

This is what I give to the client WITH a DVD of High-Resolution images for personal printing.

The filenames in the magazine match the files on the DVD and the files on smugmug, so everyone, friends and family alike, are on the same ‘page’ (hah pun) of what photos are what when people are talking to each other.

Please ignore my crappy product shots, these are just meant for you guys to look at, i did them pretty quick and crappy. hah, I’ll make better ones for my product section of my webpage when I make it.

WOW. Ashley and Dustyn are SUCH a great couple and these images show that! Such a WONDERFUL couple to work with, and attractive to boot! I couldn’t have asked for a better shoot to be my FIRST Engagement Session.

I know this is a LOT of photos, but i’m like that, there were just sooo many that I liked, that I didnt know what to delete. GRR dont you hate that?? I’m sure they will like having so many to choose from though.

This shoot took about 2 hours from start to finish, we shot this at a historical park in Farmer’s Branch, Texas (Dallas).

Also, when I got back to her place to say my goodbyes, her daughter was there and was LOVING the camera, so there are also a bunch of those. I also pulled out my ’strobist’ light kit, and used some off camera flash and umbrella action. I didn’t pull it out at the shoot outside, I know I should have, oh well.

I shot 750 photos (lots of eye blinks, weird smiles, hair in face, etc), and whittled them down to 177 that I posted online for them to choose from.

Everything was Processed in Lightroom and NEVER touched photoshop. It took about 3 hours to go from 750 photos to 177, and edited to my likings. Lightroom is really a time saver, if you arent using this, you are CRAZY.

and now for the awesome photos:

Me and Jerry went to the Gay Pride Parade in one of the nicer parts of Dallas on Sunday. It was actually kind of fun and interesting. Lotta hot girls (that were lesbian) and lotta ugly guys trying to look like girls.(it’s okay, you tried) We ran around like madmen, walking alongside the parade on the inside of the barricade and acting like we knew what we were doing. Even the cops ignored our slyness.

Now, this kind of work isnt my norm, but that’s why I’m doing it, to learn and train myself to be a better photographer. Be able to adjust adjust settings on the fly, even faster then I need to at weddings. For the record, neither me nor Jerry are gay, but we support their rights.
