I have put some commonly asked questions I get asked by many brides, that way you have a little bit more information up front before knowing I’m the right photographer for you! If you have any other questions, or just wanna chat, please send me an email.

Q. What’s the best way to reach jon the photographer?

A. Email is the best, fastest and most sure way to make sure I get any information you can give me about your shoot or wedding. I’m very busy during the day, So I’ll try to get to my phone calls and messages as soon as I can. You’re business is VERY important to me.

Q. Do you have a studio?

A. Nope, I’m currently working on location only. Don’t be worried though, all of the photos you see on my site are taken with my gear that fits on me, I can create great photos anywhere. I’m more fond of the natural light given, than the fake posed studio shots anyhow. It also allows me to offer amazing products at such a great value without having the overhead of a studio.

Q. Where are you located and where do you shoot?

A. I live in Bedford, Texas, close to the DFW Airport. I have no problem traveling around the DFW metroplex, as I’m pretty familiar with traveling here. If you have a destination wedding (not in Texas), feel free to contact me, as I’d love to travel to shoot a wedding! hint! hint!

Q. Do I get a copy of the images to print myself?

A. Yes! I do provide high resolution images on a thumbdrive or dvd with all of my packages. Thumbdrives are those sweet little USB hard drives that can plug right into the USB port of your computer, for a unique way of carrying and storing your images. These are high enough quality to get a 12×18’s print made. (or larger depending on application)   I also will provide a dvd if a thumbdrive is not right for you.

Q. How do the payments work?

A. For portrait sessions I try to collect at the time of the shoot, or within 3 days of the shoot. For weddings, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer when the contract is signed (to prepare for and hold the date), and the remaining 50% of the balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding. Invoices are sent for all wedding payments.

Q. Can I pay by credit card?

A. YES! You can pay by credit card, check or cash! Credit card payments are done through paypal.com, and checks made out to Jon Cooper.

Q. How long does it generally take to get my photos?

 A. While I try to maintain a fast turnaround time, photo editing and enhancing may take up to 4 weeks before they are uploaded and ready to order. I strive to get them done just a few days after the shoot, but many factors come in to play. Photography is an art, and thus doesn’t always end up being the fastest product to create. Trust me though, It’s very worth it once you get the them, and after I’ve had plenty of time to work with the photos. You’ll love me for it!

The photo cards and prints take an additional 7 days to be printed and shipped after your selection. See below about albums.

Q. How long does it take to get my custom designed leather wedding album?

A. Since the album has custom layout and design, and it is printed and hand-bound in Italy with genuine leather binding, It may take 4-8 weeks for layout and design, and ships 2 weeks after approval. Trust me though, it’s worth it!

Q. About how many photos do you generally take?

A. I like to take tons of photos! I usually average about 100 images per hour. So a typical wedding that lasts 8 hours, I have somewhere around 800 photos to edit and cull through (to remove awkward faces, hair in the face, blurred image, etc) and end up with around 300-500 photos that make the cut. Though don’t quote me on this! :)

Q. Do you do any special effects to your photos?

A. I have a general standard that I go by, I don’t get too crazy unless it’s asked for. Simple black and white conversions, sepia style, and some random interesting colored effects get thrown in there often. Most the time I tend to keep to my high contrast and colorful ways. If you have any requests, feel free to ask! (I’ll even do ’selective coloring’ - ie; black and white image with colored flowers) I also do basic blemish removal at your request.

Q. Photos on a thumbdrive? What’s that?

A. Instead of including a cd that can be easily scratched and not as easy to transport, I’ve opted to include one of those fancy thumbdrives that plugs right into your computer’s USB port! They transport well, come with a keychain, and work at pretty much all photo kiosks at Walmart, Costco, Sams, Target, or your favorite photo lab.

More to come, stay tuned!
