This was photographed at the awesome Alexander Bed and Breakfast in Lake Kiowa-Gainesville, Texas. Be sure to check that place out if you’re ever wanting to stay in the area, or have a cherished event such as a Wedding to share!

This is what I give to the client WITH a DVD of High-Resolution images for personal printing.

The filenames in the magazine match the files on the DVD and the files on smugmug, so everyone, friends and family alike, are on the same ‘page’ (hah pun) of what photos are what when people are talking to each other.

Please ignore my crappy product shots, these are just meant for you guys to look at, i did them pretty quick and crappy. hah, I’ll make better ones for my product section of my webpage when I make it.

I know this is a LOT of photos, but i’m like that, there were just sooo many that I liked, that I didnt know what to delete. GRR dont you hate that?? I’m sure they will like having so many to choose from though.

This shoot took about 2 hours from start to finish, we shot this at a historical park in Farmer’s Branch, Texas (Dallas).

Also, when I got back to her place to say my goodbyes, her daughter was there and was LOVING the camera, so there are also a bunch of those. I also pulled out my ’strobist’ light kit, and used some off camera flash and umbrella action. I didn’t pull it out at the shoot outside, I know I should have, oh well.

I shot 750 photos (lots of eye blinks, weird smiles, hair in face, etc), and whittled them down to 177 that I posted online for them to choose from.

Everything was Processed in Lightroom and NEVER touched photoshop. It took about 3 hours to go from 750 photos to 177, and edited to my likings. Lightroom is really a time saver, if you arent using this, you are CRAZY.

Now, this kind of work isnt my norm, but that’s why I’m doing it, to learn and train myself to be a better photographer. Be able to adjust adjust settings on the fly, even faster then I need to at weddings. For the record, neither me nor Jerry are gay, but we support their rights.

Awesome logo at this steakhouse called The Silver Fox. That’s me in the reflection.

Just looked up and thought i’d take a photo, i liked the perspective.

Sidewalk Closed. Well duh.. We walked on it anyways.

Cool sign I saw, and Cool fence.. Put them together and voila! — We wanted to go up the stairs, and get on the roof, but we didn’t want to get charged for trespassing. oh well.

Damn that’s a nice car.

Just had to take another photo it was just badass. Some people have too much money.

Then we went to a badass sushi place in lewisville called Bonsai. OMG, it was some great tasting food!

On the way home, we picked up his fiance and some cheapo plastic ford part broke on his car and sprayed coolant all over the engine bay. Awesome!

Jerry to the rescue with his mild obsession of putting gaffers tape on anything, automatically making everything better. It surprisingly worked to get us where we needed.

Then we decided to go do some silo action rock climbing. I’ve never been before, so i thought it’d be a new interesting experience. It definitely was pretty cool, but I can barely wipe my butt today because my muscles were so worked.

Then we ended with taking pics of his new puppy henry, coolest dog ever!

I am also playing with my BLOG portion of my site. I have decided to get rid of the LEFT navigating bar, it’s really only good for reading and searching my posts that are over 6 months old, which is not a big deal to me, but now it matches the WIDTH of the rest of my site (800 pixels). I can now display larger photos to show off my work better.

The Digital Negatives
I INCLUDE A DVD OF THE HIGH RESOLUTION FILES IN ALL OF MY PACKAGES.

Brides love me for this, but a lot of photographers don’t. Of course, since I am primarily a wedding photographer, I am all about pleasing the brides. But I am also a “known figure” in the wedding photography community, so I want to make sure to explain my reasoning and perhaps try to justify why I do this. I intentionally posted this in the Wedding & Clients section and not the Photographers section because I am writing this to inform brides of the big picture (and hopefully some photographers will “get it” too).

Back in the olden days (like in the 1990’s), most traditional photographers would charge a relatively small fee to photograph a wedding. They would do their best to shoot great photos that people would in turn want to purchase. After the wedding was over, they switched hats and became a salesman (or woman). Their livelihood was dependent on how many 8×10’s and 5×7’s they sold. They would sell frames at a huge markups and employ high pressure tactics to upsell the wedding albums. They needed you to pay for the physical prints, frames or albums in order to make a living. The wouldn’t even consider giving the negatives away since the negatives were the means to reproduction. Most never let you keep the proofs and they would stamp the word “PROOF” really big right on the front of the print so if you did try to illegally copy it, every one would know.

They had THE BEST FOOD at a wedding I’ve ever had. Can we say STEAK? It was SOO good! I even got to dance with Chelsea’s mom! Check the pics below, such a great bride and groom to work with! Lots of photos ahead!
